The interesting part?

From the outside, everything looked fine.

Until you looked at the cost.
→ Partners went quiet and kept their distance.
→ Conversations that needed to happen weren't happening.
→ Decisions were being made in silos.
→ Trust had been replaced by frustration.
→ Several partners were considering leaving.

None of this happened overnight.

It had been building for years.

The work was getting done.
The firm was profitable.
The cost kept building.

That's one of the things I keep seeing in legal practice.
A conversation that doesn't happen.
A decision made without the right people involved.
An issue that doesn't get addressed early.

The work gets done.
The cost keeps building.

By the time the problem becomes visible, it's already expensive.
