By mid-January, most barristers' and lawyers' plans for change in 2026 are already gone.

Either you started doing something differently, or nothing has changed.

The rest is predictable.

Stop complaining about what you’re choosing to tolerate.
That's where courage starts.

From the outside, nothing looks wrong.

Because most barristers and lawyers don't fall apart in public.
They keep turning up.
They do the work.
They carry the workload.
They get results.

When something isn't right, they don't stop.
They tolerate it.

They know it, and feel it, though.

A client they don't want to work with (for barristers, maybe a solicitor). šŸ˜„
A firm that normalises bullying and favouritism.
A practice that takes everything from them.
No boundaries: work demands, urgency, deadlines are always on their mind.
A career + life that ended up somewhere they didn't choose.
Second-guessing themselves, imposter syndrome, and it shows up when the pressure is on.

So they talk and complain about it.

Usually to the same people.
Having the same conversations.
With no change.

And it stops there.

Because once you know something isn't working, talking about it instead of dealing with it reduces internal pressure (short term), but it keeps you stuck there.

What's required is courage.
Courage isn't focusing on the many obstacles to change, then stopping.
It starts when you decide to deal with what you've been avoiding and make change happen in 2026.

Different decisions.
Same requirement.
Courage = Action.

šŸ¤”What are you still talking about and tolerating, instead of dealing with it?

šŸ‘‰šŸ»This is the work before your decisions get expensive.
