Fear isn't the problem.
Repeating December is.
Every time I changed something, FEAR was always there.
Starting law? Terrifying.
On my feet as a barrister in hearings? Worse.
Building a mediation + coaching advisory practice? Felt impossible.
Fear showed up every step of the way.
And it shows up every December for lawyers, too.
The decisions you keep postponing because "it's December."
The work you say yes t,o even though you're at capacity.
The boundaries you still haven't enforced.
The pattern you swore you wouldn't repeat — but can feel coming back.
Here's the rule I made:
If it makes me anxious or fearful, I move toward it.
Not because I like it — I don't.
But because what's on the other side is worth it:
• A December that doesn't run you.
• A January that isn't a repair job.
• A system that holds when everything hits at once.
• A year that doesn't start with you behind.
Avoiding it makes it bigger.
Facing it makes it smaller.
So ask yourself:
What's the thing you're fearing right now?
The December "In Control" Plan gives you the five short, sharp strategies I used to stop December rolling into January.
They're simple.
They're fast.
And they work.
