Ready for a busy week? Did you constantly feel bogged down with a never-ending to-do list trying to manage emails, meetings, and people and add to your professional projects/tasks?
Are you excited about what's in store for you this week? If not, why not?
Many are familiar with their daily or weekly obligations/tasks/projects and have created personal and professional to-do lists. However, they often experience a lack of enthusiasm or even feel a sense of dread about what they must "DO" today or this coming week.
When they feel dread, you typically accept that feeling of dread... you stop or slow down doing what you need to do on your "project/task" or distract yourself with social media, the internet, food, drink, or drugs, believing distractions are better than your 'real life." Then do you find that you end up chasing your tails, feeling overwhelmed, stressed, pushing yourself hard trying to juggle all of their responsibilities, and killing yourself as you put in the 60,70, 80 – 100+ hours and don't feel like you're getting traction as fast as you had hoped?
Are you not unsure if you can continue to do this for another 2, 5 or 10 years at this pace?
Even if you can do another ten years like this, will you get to the end and feel, "What was this all for? What did I accomplish? "
Are you happy doing what you are doing right now?
You may have a great career and have all of the external success you dreamed of, and you may appear to be one person on the SWAT team with lots of things crossed off your 'to-do list" every day, week, month and year.
However, have you progressed in designing your life and feeling the way you want to feel? Are you as happy as you want, and do those around you need you to be?
It's important to know that being more in control of your most precious commodity….time, progress is possible, and so is life balance and greater happiness and fulfilment. Sometimes, 'busyness' doesn't necessarily mean being more productive and living the life of your dreams.
But if you're like most, the path to higher productivity and having a more meaningful, joyous life can seem like a mystery.
You've likely been bombarded with conflicting advice, big promises you've tried and didn't work, or even discouraged by the fear of failure.
So, let me pull back the curtain and share a productivity misconception with you.
❌ Dread about doing things you have to do or would like to change, being demotivated and distracted, not using your time wisely and not progressing as quickly as you want, to live and lead confidently…. has nothing to do with time management or needing a time management app.
Through my journey, I've learned these habits to boost my productivity, progress faster, and boost my happiness doing what I do. High productivity is based on your habits and is a part of high performance.
