ARE YOU SABOTAGING YOUR NEXT LEVEL OF SUCCESS?
I've never stopped being puzzled when I coach people and consult with businesses, and they SAY they want more success...
They SAY they want higher levels of joy, meaning, mental, value-driven behaviours, physical, mental, and emotional fitness, energy, wealth, better relationships, higher productivity, better communication, more time... and more.
But too often, I see people choose the hacks of do this and that, and they get tricked into believing that change will be instant, and that's how change happens. (P.S. It doesn't)
What often gets overlooked are the human elements of success: overcoming the impact of fear, unmanaged emotions, and limiting beliefs when implementing or trying something new or going after what you really want, which helps you reach the next level of success.
In my coaching and consulting experience, most people say they are 9/10 or even 10/10 committed to doing what it takes to reach that next level.
But when it comes time to try, take bold action, and get started, they SAY they are too busy, or they don't have the resources, the time, or the competency, fearful of not having enough (x); what will others think, will I be rejected, will this be held against me?
They think, "This is just the way I am, this is all I'll ever be, this is how it's always been", and these are all excuses to stay stuck in the self they have met that can only get the same results they have always got.
Most leaders, professionals and business owners are very busy and stressed, and it's all about survival for them. Still, they remain stuck in a million excuses about why they aren't ready for or can't get more ....!
What puzzles me when I hear people SAY that they are too busy, yet on average, Australians spend 2.5 hours watching T.V. and 2.5 hours on social media daily (Americans spend more time) or spend 10+ per day working themselves into the ground to succeed in their careers or businesses and other parts of their lives are dismissed.
This tells me they haven't decided YET to live an extraordinary quality of life; they are focused on problems rather than potential and possibilities.
Remember: Things aren't getting better; they're getting more challenging. I know you're stretched thin and likely feeling overwhelmed, and many people are full of fears and doubts, so this can be an easy way to justify the status quo and play small.
P.P.S. We might think we don't have the time, money, or competency to change, but in reality, we lack confidence and self-worth and sabotage ourselves to ensure we don't achieve the next level of success.
