What Will You CHOOSE?

I'll be confident when…
Too many female leaders fall into this trap, making them stop when they feel confident in a situation or a task/skill.🛑

They think confidence is:
 ✅ Doing things 'perfectly'.
✅ Proving their worth and value over and over.
✅ Earning high status, wealth, or recognition.

But confidence isn't about any of these 👆.
It's a belief in your ability to learn a skill and perform well in a particular area based on practice = competency = confidence.

Self-confidence? That's different
- it's not based on skills, titles, money or situations.

It's tied to your trust in yourself and your ability to navigate leadership and life challenges because you believe you can always learn, grow, and adapt, independent of circumstances or achievements—even if you feel overwhelmed, lack the skills, or face uncertainty.

And both confidence and self-confidence are built on courage:
 ✔️ The courage to try.
✔️ The courage to fail, be disapproved of, criticised or rejected
✔️ The courage to keep going—even when what you're doing is messy, unpopular, or unorthodox.

Without courage, you're stuck in low confidence and self-doubt:
❌ Avoid taking risks and learning new things... because failure feels scary.
❌ Staying in your comfort zone, conforming to others' expectations, seeking others' approval and permission from others to act.
❌ Struggling to take bold action, missing opportunities, and never reaching your full potential.

Here's how to start to build courage, confidence, and self-confidence:
✅ Set an intention and put systems in place so you take bold, uncomfortable action daily.
✅ Shift your mindset; trust yourself to learn and grow so you know you can figure things out, even when you're unsure or don't feel ready.
✅ Get clarity to show up as your best self and take bold action despite fear of criticism, failure, or rejection.

I'd rather be a leader taking bold, messy action every day, building confidence and self-confidence in leadership and life, than one who hides behind perfection, avoids risks, and misses the chance to grow and master confident and self-confident leadership 😉
