Are You Worried About Confrontation Or Do YOU Want To Influence?

One big difference between you and high-performing leaders is that you're afraid to challenge (yourself) and others to grow and improve.
You avoid speaking to them 1:1 to challenge them in a difficult conversation.
You assume this is confrontational.
You fear people will push back, feel inadequate, leave or ask, "Who do you think you are...?
Regardless of how well you communicate, some people won't like you pushing them to grow and contribute at higher levels (add more value, be more generous, show empathy, etc).
That's the price you must be willing to pay to be a high-performing leader, effect future change, and gain real influence in your leadership and life.
High-performing leaders are explicit in their expectations of how people must treat each other.
They have high expectations for those they influence.
This doesn't mean they are hard on their teams.
This means challenging people with respect and honour to connect with others better so that there is cohesion, respect, and harmony among those they live and work with because they know that increases results.
Challenging people apply to interactions in the office, mediation, conflict resolution, teams, with counterparts, and in your personal life and generally.
Where are you making excuses, and how might life, leadership and conflict resolution be better if you showed up stronger?
Imagine being able to influence those around you 10 x better in the next month as you close the year or when things may be challenging at Christmas with family/friends. It's possible, and you WILL have better results.
